Who we are
Siempre por Colombia Foundation is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Bogotá in April 2024. We work so that individuals and grassroots organizations have the skills, relationships and tools they need to take part in the democratic life of their communities.
In less than two years we have built a growing network of locally rooted leaders and organizations across the country, proving that community organizing turns leadership, trust and relationships into collective action.
Those results are a foundation of people, relationships and organizations already working in their communities, and a platform from which to grow.
What we do
Leadership training
In-person and online workshops on democratic participation, community organizing, public communication and narrative. It includes a train-the-trainers model, so each territory can replicate the content with its own people.
Community initiatives
We support initiatives that organizations design and carry out themselves in their municipalities, with funding, technical advice and follow-up through completion.
Applied research
Qualitative research and digital listening to understand how public issues are discussed in Colombia. The findings return to the territories as working material.
Territorial network
We connect organizations and trained leaders with one another, so they can share lessons, coordinate action and sustain the work beyond any single project.
What we have done
Between 2024 and 2026 we ran a training and community organizing program with support from Open Society Foundations and the Ford Foundation. We delivered 47 workshops in 39 municipalities across 19 departments, with 930 participants, reaching 11 municipalities on the Caribbean coast and 5 on the Pacific coast.
We certified 51 trainers at a national gathering in Bogotá, supported 12 community initiatives in 11 municipalities, designed and carried out by the organizations themselves, and produced two qualitative studies and 24 digital listening reports on public debate in Colombia.
The program closed with an inter-municipal gathering that brought more than 30 grassroots organizations from different regions to work together.
